To support Ukrainian students and help them catch up on learning gaps, the team of EdCamp Ukraine NGO, in collaboration with relevant state institutions, launched a nationwide government-CSO project to address educational losses and gaps—the POVIR national platform.
The results of the project's first month were presented at the national EdCamp by Serhiy Babak, Head of the Committee on Education, Science, and Innovation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Serhiy Koleboshyn, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on Education, Science, and Innovation.
According to Mr. Serhiy, more than 500 children from the 7th and 9th grades were involved in the first wave. The project participants are students from 24 regions of Ukraine, including those living in temporarily occupied territories. During the pilot phase of the platform, children have the opportunity to brush up on three school subjects: mathematics, Ukrainian, and English. The initial results show that 7th-grade students primarily choose mathematics (43.2%), while 9th-grade students favor English (50%).
