Bridging Learning Gaps with the «POVIR» Platform: Mathematics as the Most In-Demand Subject

Co-founder of the «POVIR» platform, co-author of its pedagogical model, and Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, Serhii Koliieboshyn, presented the results of the one-year pilot of the «POVIR» platform during the EdCamp educational (un)conference. The Member of Parliament spoke about the system for bridging learning gaps and shared the platform’s outcomes.
According to Serhii Koliieboshyn, more than 3,500 children were invited to participate in the platform’s learning programs. Nearly 1,700 students actively engaged in the educational process.
Every second child submitted an application for the marathon, and mathematics became the most in-demand subject. Almost 96% of participating students completed the marathon.
The MP also noted that the pedagogical model of «POVIR» is built on four key components:
«We initially planned to engage 2,000 students from grades 7, 9, and 11, and focused on three subjects — mathematics, Ukrainian language, and English,» noted Koliieboshyn.
In addition, the MP pointed out that teachers who served as trainers and SEN specialists noted a positive impact on their primary teaching roles due to their experience with the «POVIR» platform. «According to their assessments, they rated it 4.4 out of 5,» Koliieboshyn said.
Based on student surveys, 94.2% gave the platform a five-star rating.
